Use This Visualization Tool to Better Communicate with Your Clients

Complex designs don’t require complex visualizations. Have a purpose for the visual and keep it simple is the best method to let the results stand for itself. We did just that teaming with Power & Control Engineering Solutions (PCES) on a project for one of their customers.

FIRST. MODEL ACCURACY:

As engineers for power and control systems, PCES understands this is crucial and first. We started with a 1/16” accuracy point cloud and built a 3D model to match. This was very detailed and included not just the architecture but all the Motor Control Centers, control panels, lighting, conduit, and everything else in the room.

SECOND. EXISTING CONDITION DECISION MAKING:

As PCES designed the new space for their client, they used the included virtual tour to help the client understand the items that were going to be removed and the items to remain. This virtual tour helped PCES and the client make key decisions on how to approach the project.

THIRD. NEW DESIGN INTEGRATION:

Once the design was settled. PCES led the development of engineering 3D models that could once again visualize for the owner how the design would impact the space. As these designs evolved so did the exhibit. This created confidence for PCES and the client that the result would be what they were intending.

See the virtual tour example below on how the designs were integrated into the existing space.

It’s a risky business, design. Having the right information and visualizing it correctly from the start was an important decision for PCES and for their client. Having a partner who can help with the collection of this information and visualization is also important. It’s easy to see what risks were averted by having such detailed information and precise visuals.

  1. Client concerns melt away when they see what’s intended visualized their own space and have the opportunity to walk around it.
  2. Design frustrations are relieved as unknowns come to the surface faster and are be eliminated more easily because the information is so complete.
  3. Focus is achieved on the big picture instead of explaining what’s on the page because the visuals are so intuitive.

Best regards in 2025 and may all your as-builts be accurate and complete.
